Another McVey in The Breadwinner partnership! Lured from a Change Management position at The Royal Bank of Scotland. Kris studied Business and Psychology at University. His skills and experience add a new perspective and outlook – we are already enjoying the benefits of having him on board.
Our Master Baker with over 45 years baking experience, Sean heads up our team of master bakers and apprentices and runs The Breadwinner Bakery School. Committed to excellence and product innovation, Sean is always trying out new ideas. As a problem-solver, his ingenuity and creativity are such an asset. Sean loves to see others enjoying breads and baked goods – both making and eating!
Business Manager since The Breadwinner started trading in 1973, Lesley has been providing business support and strategic leadership. In addition to overseeing staff management, together with Sean, she manages client liaison and contributes to developing growth opportunities. Lesley delights in seeing people follow their dreams and enjoys time outdoors with her beautiful dogs.
Paul is our most experienced and longest serving baker. While most of us are sleeping, he cycles five miles to work (rain, hail or shine). Over the years he has built up his baking skills and is now one of the best and most consistent bakers around. Paul also has an avid interest in football and is currently coaching with Spartans FC.
Originally from Poland Marcin is another night owl. He holds more than 300 recipes in his head! His sour dough and rye breads are truly amazing. Marcin's hobby is computing but we are still discovering his wealth of talents.
Ella is our only female baker – and what a baker! Her skills extend throughout our entire range of products. Ella oozes energy, personality and enthusiasm – though her skills definitely lie more in baking than in singing! She chooses to work nights so that she can spend more time with her son, husband and her many friends. We all love her.
Craig hails from Canada, and fell in love with a Scottish lass - their loss is our gain! He is multi-talented: a skilled baker, administrator and ambassador for The Breadwinner. Being warm and hospitable he is a vital part of our Bakery School and loves to spend time with his wife daughter and new baby boy. He is a real foodie.
An Aberdonian and highly skilled all round baker Adam always accomplishes what is set out for him to do and then some! As a forward planner he is a tremendous asset to us. He loves to cook at home and takes amazing photographs all around Edinburgh.
Mikolaj is our longest serving van driver. He has the patience and skills to negotiate daily the Edinburgh traffic and manages to deliver on time! He also now plans the dispatch and delivery of our products with precision and care. Mikolaj loves the outdoors and loves being in the country and spending time with his dog.
Raymond is our much appreciated, totally reliable book-keeper of more than 20 years. His attention to detail means the work he does is a great attribute to us: he has been a big part of the Breadwinner journey. Our golden oldie who has still much to offer, Raymond is a keen gardener and family man.
Along with Mikolaj he skilfully negotiates the roads and traffic to get our customers on time. Thankfully driving is one of his passions - his other is his fiance with wedding bells going to be chiming this September. For Lukasz nothing is too much trouble and his is a great asset to our team and our customers!
A passionate baker and natural craftsman, who is currently learning our products and all that it means to be committed to excellence. With his skill and our support he's one to watch!
Our youngest member of the team. Comes in after school and helps our bakers in all the tasks they ask him to do. Is very willing and keep to embrace our motto ‘committed to excellence’. He plays rugby for Boroughmuir and it shows as he is a strong team player.
A real treasure, her attention to detail and desire for accuracy makes her invaluable in the jobs she does in the office – taking order and processing them from invoice to production. She is the voice you will most likely speak to on the telephone and when you do you should know you in good hands. She often paraphrases her favorite Star Trek character Dr McCoy saying “I am an administrator not a baker”
